What is a “partnership in the gospel”?
Paul writes of it in Philippians 1:3-5
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
The term and the idea is largely lost today. Paul is writing about how the church in Philippi partnered with him in the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ. And not just in salvation, but how the gospel shapes Christians as the grow in their faith.
It is good to see this. Sometimes we are not altogether aware of the purposes of the church. This is a good reminder.
