There’s a hidden gem in John 1.
Jesus says it first, then Nathanael says it.
We humans can be skeptical. We can be doubters or hesitant. Sometimes someones word is not enough. We need proof, we need to see it or hear it for ourselves.
Two disciples ask Jesus (vs 38) where He is staying. He doesn’t tell them where, He says, “Come and you will see.”
Nathanael tells Philip about Jesus, and Philip is skeptical (vs 46), so Nathanael says, “Come and see.”
That’s the gem. We are invited to come and see. The church is Christianity made visible. We can tell people, “Come and see.”
